 This information will give you an idea of what routes are available, and how long it takes. Please check with the ferry company for more details.

Our preferred option is the Fast-Cat from Portsmouth to Caen, which takes about three and a half hours at sea, and then it's about a three and a half hour drive from Caen to the house.

Other routes are available, but we have not tried all of them yet!

The nearest airport is at Nantes, which is about a 45 minute drive from the house. Ryanair fly from Stanstead to Nantes and they have some good offers on every now and then. Car hire is available from Nantes airport.

    • Sail Fast Cats from Poole Dorset to St Malo.
  • P And O Ferries
    • Alternative ferries with over night options from various places.
  • Eurotunnel
    • A 35 minute train journey from Dover to Calais.
  • Ryanair
    • Fly from Stanstead to nantes (45 minute drive to the house from the airport)
